So my team is debating whether we should just stick with Box instead of going for a “real” virtual data room. It’s cheaper and everyone already knows how to use it, but I keep hearing people say it’s not as secure as the dedicated VDR providers. Anyone here actually used it in a deal setting?

Saw an Australian Data Room’s Box review the other day and it summed up my experience perfectly: great for collaboration, not amazing for high-stakes transactions. Don’t get me wrong, Box is super convenient if your team already lives in it, and it does have some decent security add-ons. But when you’re dealing with investors, audits, or compliance-heavy stuff, most people expect something purpose-built. Box feels like a shortcut that works… until it doesn’t.
