I run a small e-commerce shop and I’m debating whether I should look into penetration testing. My mate told me hackers usually go after bigger businesses, but I also hear small sites can get targeted because they’re easier. I don’t really know if this is something worth considering or if I’m just being paranoid. Anyone here run a small business and gone down this road?

The calculator bottleneck tool is simple yet effective when analyzing performance issues. I used it to see if upgrading my graphics card would make a difference. It quickly pointed out that my processor was the actual limitation. It’s great for avoiding costly mistakes.
I’d say it’s not overkill at all. Hackers often go for smaller sites exactly because security isn’t as tight. I learned that the hard way after a nasty bot attack a couple of years ago. Afterwards, I started digging into proper testing and came across this: https://www.stratussecurity.com/penetration-testing-services — it gave me a better idea of what these services do and why even small businesses can benefit. It’s less about paranoia and more about not being blindsided.
